Family Tours
Are you planning a trip to Israel for your family or for a small group of families? Work with Authentic Israel, and we will make it easy. Because we have local trip planning staff in North America, the communication and planning process will be convenient. And because we operate all of our own trips directly in Israel, you can be assured that your family will receive the best possible prices.
Family Tours
Authentic Israel specializes in organizing custom package tours. We will work with your family at every stage of the process to create a truly memorable experience in Israel. From designing an itinerary to choosing the right guide to getting you ready for travel. You will find our staff to be responsive and flexible throughout. Many families choose to use one of our private guide/drivers for their trip. Using a private guide/driver is the perfect way to experience a complete tour of Israel and at your family's own pace. If you are interested in joining a group family tour, we offer a series of trips called My Turn in Israel which are opened to individual families at group rates.
NOTE: Because we specialize in custom package tours for families, our staff is typically not available to book hotels only, flights only, or guides only. Thank you for your understanding.
Bar & Bat Mitzvah Family Tours
For generations, Jewish families have been coming to Israel to celebrate the Bar/Bat Mitzvah of their children. Celebrating a Bar/Bat Mitzvah in Israel is an especially meaningful and appropriate way to mark this important step in your child's development into a Jewish adult. Authentic Israel works with families to design custom Bar/Bat Mitzvah Israel tours. Whether you wish to simply tour the country with your family, organize a local Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony, or host a reception in Israel to mark the occassion, our staff will work with you to make the dream a reality.
Active Family Tours
The land of Israel is stunning and offers many opportunities for a wide array of outdoors touring experiences. Our staff has years of experience hiking, biking, rappelling, and jeeping through the diverse terrain of the Negev Desert, the Judean Hills, the Golan Heights, and the Galilee. It is always our pleasure to share those experiences with through a custom family tour with a focus on the outdoors.

While no two trips are planned in exactly the same way, the following is a general outline of how we work to plan family Israel tours:
Step #1: Planning the itinerary
The first stage of the process is to discuss the goals for the trip. We will want to gather important information that will help guide us in proposing an itinerary for your trip.
- What is the purpose of the trip?
- What are your family's interests & travel style?
- What time of year do you prefer to travel?
- What level of accommodations do you prefer?
- Do you want a private guide/driver? If so, how many days?
Once we have established the basics, our trip planning specialists will propose a draft itinerary for review. We will fine tune that draft itinerary as much as necessary with you until it matches your exact vision for the trip.
Step #2: Confirming the trip costs
After we have settled on a basic itinerary for the trip, we will prepare a formal proposal with detailed trip costs and a listing of the services that are included. Since the biggest cost of every trip is the accommodations (hotels, guest houses, etc.), it is usually easy for us to manage the price of the package to meet your budget by adjusting the choice of hotels. In any event, we will always give you a series of options to consider.
Step #3: Booking the trip
After we have settled on the itinerary and a price, our operations staff in Israel will begin the process of booking the trip. This process usually takes 1-2 weeks. In some cases, a specific hotel or activity that was requested may not be available when we try to book it. We will let you know of any such issues when they arise and propose a solution. After that process is complete, we will send you a final contract with confirmed trip details and full payment terms.
Step #4: Getting ready for the trip
Approximately two months before the start of the trip, we will do a final day-by-day review of the itinerary with you and make any necessary updates. We will also put you in touch directly with your trip guide so that you can get to know him/her before arrival in Israel. At that point, we will also send you your final travel documents. Included in this packet will be your Authentic Israel luggage tags, the final itinerary with applicable confirmation numbers, a suggested packing list, links to order cell phones, as well as other useful information to prepare for an Israel trip.
Step #5: On the ground in Israel
A well planned program means that once you arrive in Israel you can relax and focus on the experience itself. You will be met at the airport by the trip guide. While the trip guide is your primary contact on the trip, the operations manager in our Tel Aviv office will also be available to assist you in case any major changes to the itinerary need to be made during the trip. The point is that you will be backed up on the ground with the full support of the Authentic Israel team.
Step #6: Reviewing the trip
Once the trip is over, we will be following up with you to do a post-trip review. If you skipped some of the planned activities on the trip, we will probably be able to credit those costs back to you. We are always looking to improve, and we will discuss what steps should be taken so that your family's next trip is that much better.
